John Dunn Engineering is a family run business which has been established specifically to cater for the “heritage sector” though we also undertake work for general industry and medical suppliers.
Manufacturing and repairing components for old machinery of any kind is a specialised area based on traditional skills and it is not easy nowadays to find craftsmen with the level of knowledge and expertise necessary to undertake some of the work required. Our wide range of experience has been built up in over thirty five years involvement with steam preservation and the engineering industry.
We have a well equipped machine shop which can deal with objects from full size down to miniature, one-offs or batches. From tool, cutter and drill grinding or the production of simple items such as bushes and boiler washout plugs right through to the machining of complicated castings, we have the facilities and knowledge to deal with your requirements.
We are able to overhaul and repair specific parts or larger sub-assemblies which might form only a small piece of a larger project. With a network of contacts throughout the engineering industry we are well placed to source materials, components, castings or other specialist knowledge and services.
Our business is relatively small with comparatively low overheads and we can therefore guarantee individual service at a very reasonable cost; both of these factors are important to you, the client, when dealing with a project that might represent a long term investment in time and money as well as being historically significant and possibly very personal.
